i don't want to live my life alone// yelizaveta kandinskaya
Life in general liked to move slow but it always felt like it was all slipping through his hands. He sat and thought a lot, maybe too much. He was not so pessimistic, for his future and for everyone. Jade really always figured it was because of the unknowns in his life. He knew where he came from but nothing about the family he was born in. He knew he had been adopted but he didn’t know how. He had tried and got nowhere. It wasn’t like him to just drop it with no answers but there was no clear way to go.

Still there was no other way but forward so forward is where she went. Sure he still was only a delivery boy but there was something to the struggling artist thing. The aesthetic did suit him. He as quite he was good in his studio apartment and few friends. It meant he had more of a drive, or it felt like it. He only had his art so of course he put his all into it, his heart and soul.

The portfolio bag was big and awkward but the best way to carry what he needed to the park. A canvas and his pack down easel, and then in the other hand he had another bag with his paints and brushes a jug of water that he had sealed. What Jade was used to was finding a wall at night that was big and out of site, he would have his crate of spray paints and dressed in all black with his bandana up and covering his face. He was used to having to be aware so that he could pack up and run if he needed to. This was just normal canvas painting in daylight in the park. It looked like he wasn’t the only one, noticing someone set up and painting as well.

Taking a moment to look he chewed his bottom lip for a second as he departed joining the other artist. He wasn’t really that social there was more than one reason for that, but it wasn’t that he wanted to be lonely either. So in the end he decide to but still gave them space. Setting the bag down he then got to setting up. First he easel and then setting the canvas on next was starting to unpack his paints. He was busy laying out his palette when he glanced over that the other painting and then followed the brush to a hand and all the way to a face. ”Um.. h-hi.” Softly he said, sheepish, Jade didn’t often reach out and break the ice on his own, but there was always something easy and familiar about other artists that helped.

Liza hated driving in the city, especially around this time, but it wasn't like she had all that much choice. This was the time she had to paint and it wasn't really like she could take her easel on the train, she had gotten one that was easier to travel with and was also able to hold her supplies but it was still something she had to put in her back seat rather than carry around under her arm to get it anywhere really, and more than a block away and she couldn't just walk given how heavy it was. She wished there was more she could do to make this easier but she had no real ideas so she just went with her current way of doing things.

Usually she would head over to the Blue Mountains area, the mountains reminding her of home and what the area had of the Dinaric Alps in the area so often she'd end up in the forested area of the lower mountains because it was familiar but really she probably should be branching out with what she did, even if this was just a painting she was doing for fun you couldn't really get any better at painting if you just kept painting the same things over and over again, really that's how everything that required practice was like. The basin had more of a damp feeling and she had never really been fond of brown water no matter the cause of it but at least it was still better than the parks in the city that were basically just a patch of green and some trees stuck in the middle of the city, painting there took so much more effort just because of how much environment she would have to create herself to fill in the areas where the buildings were. The city gave her the freedom to be herself in safety but it also meant it took more effort to find places to paint.

So after parking she set everything up in front of a park bench, she found it hard enough to paint for hours standing up to affect the quality of what she painted so she had gotten a shorter easel so she could sit while she painted, before sitting down and starting to paint, managing to make some good progress when she suddenly heard a voice beside her. She had ignored the other as he set his stuff up, focusing on her work, but she wasn't about to ignore someone who was actually speaking to her so she turned to the other.

"Hey." She responded with a smile.

It wasn’t actually that often that he came across too many other artists. Or not ones that were so obvious about their set up, taking large strokes to apply the paint to a canvas. He had spotted some coffee shop skechers of course here and there but he wasn’t generally out to interrupt them. Niot that he was trying to do that with this woman either.Getting some of his paints out he prepared his pallet then grabbing a big bristley brush for his own work.

Smiling at her greeting in response to his then. Jade was a fairly silent person. He spoke lowly and with few words. It was in stark contrast to his best friend but that was part of how they worked. Really he was grateful for Jax even if at times all that frantic energy was exhausting. Starting to put down a base coat in of a light brown for an underpainting with large strokes using his whole arm to cover as much as he could quickly. It was like when he tagged walls, the broad strokes that were full of confidence, but this wasn’t going to be quite the same style of work.

”What you are d-doing looks n-nice,” He started to talk with some light conversation between them as he continued to cover his own canvas. ”D-d-do you come out h-here often? “ Asking her then while he laid down the last two broad strokes and looked over the coverage. He stepped back then so he could look then over at her piece too. ”Is th-this your m-medium?” Another simple question. His stutter was normally subtle and when he was comfortable it did relax a little too. He wasn’t ashamed of it, obviously had grown used to the way he spoke but he knew there were some people who would always judge him for the speech impediment.
